Roger Moore at the Orlando Sentinel suggests that with a strong Sunday, Courageous can be NUMBER ONE at the box office!
“Courageous” is doing a healthy $9 million, but “Dream House” may better it among the new releases — an $11 million projection, now. With its pre-release ticket sales, “Courageous” could pass “Dream House,” and a huge Sunday could even give it the weekend (my speculation there).
Here’s another possible scenario: A strong showing of over NINE million dollars:
Sherwood Pictures’ Courageous, a Christian-based film about four police officers, came in fourth place. Courageous grossed $3.1 million on its first day, more than enough to cover its tiny $2 million budget. Thanks to post-church crowds, Courageous should see a slighter dip than most films on Sunday, and it may finish the weekend with $9.5 million in just 1,161 theaters.
Perhaps even a cool TEN million dollars!
The best performance among the new crop came from the new entry that had the most uplifting message: “Courageous,” a $2 million family drama produced by the Christian Church-backed Sherwood Entertainment and distributed by Sony, grossed $3.1 million Friday and could actually crack the $10 million mark this weekend.
GO see Courageous! Of course, the real victory is changed lives and families! (For more about what Jesus can do for you, try here!)
